Interpreters Training Program (ITP) for GBCD.

Each year, GBCD provides workshops for interpreters to help improve their skills to provide the deaf community with accurate signed interpreted communications. Most of the time, these workshops help you by providing CEU’s that are needed to keep the certified interpreters certificates updated.

GBCD, along with the Georgia Baptist Convention, sponsors at least two opportunities each year. Once in the spring at Camp Kaleho and again in the fall at the annual GBCD Conference. Check back often for updated information!

Hello! My name is Laramie Burris and I am the JrGBCD Coordinator. The JrGBCD committee has been working very hard to prepare for this years camp. We will start our kick off on September 17th at 5:00pm. The price for whole weekend is $30 dollars. The age limits are from 12 to 20 years olds. We will have at least 6 deaf staff workers at the camp for proper supervision. We will offer workshops about peer pressure and learn how to survive after high school. Also, we will have games, worship, fellowship at a bonfire and much more! Teenagers will not want to miss all the fun!

Our Speaker – Kevin Clark will be our speaker for the weekend. For information about Kevin, click here.

Transporation – We will have a church bus pick up your child at their school on September 17th. The only thing you will need to do is complete and provide two letters to the bus driver and school admistration. One letter for bus driver to let the driver know that your child will not ride bus in the afternoon on September 17th. The other letter is for the school adminstration; letting them know that you have give us, GBCD, authorization to pick up your child from their school. We will only pick your child AFTER school finishes. Or you can bring your child to Camp Tugalo in Toccoa Georgia no later than 5:00pm on September 17. You will need to pick up your child on September 19th at 4:00pm at Annistown Road Baptist Church 4554 Annistown Road Snellville, GA 30039 (the church website is www.arbc.org). Forms – Below are links for the forms that you need to complete. One form is for registering your child to attend camp. The other form is a Medical Wavier Form, this is a REQUIRED form. This form will help us contact you immediately if something happens to your child at camp. Medicine – If your child requires medicine, please write a letter to authorization for us hold your child medicine. Also, include instructions how much and how often they need take their medication.
